The Israeli Defense Forces denies a direct air strike on the Al-Ahli hospital in the Gaza Strip and its involvement in it. In confirmation of this, Tel Aviv published footage of the hospital and an allegedly intercepted conversation between militants. This was reported by Sky News and the IDF press service.
IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagar gave a press conference on the strike on the hospital in Gaza, where hundreds of civilians were hospitalized. According to Israel, at 18:15 local time, Hamas fired rockets at Israel, and at 18:59, Islamic Jihad fired 10 rockets. At the same time, explosions were reported near the Al-Ahli hospital.
Hagari claimed that an Islamic Jihad rocket misfired and landed in a nearby parking lot rather than on the hospital.
"The analysis of our aerial footage confirms that there was no direct hit on the hospital itself," he said, adding that only the parking lot was damaged.
The spokesperson noted that an Israeli strike would have caused more damage, including a crater from the missile explosion. In support of its statements, the IDF published footage before and after the explosion at Al-Ahli Hospital.
The Israeli army also claims to have intercepted a conversation between terrorists talking about a "missile misfire."
A representative of the Israeli army accused Hamas of trying to hide what "really happened" in the hospital. According to him, Hamas is overstating the number of victims.
