Vladimir Putin has instructed Andrey Troshev, the former head of the Wagner Private Military Companies' headquarters, to organize the formation of volunteer units to participate in military operations against Ukraine. This information appeared on the Kremlin's Telegram channel.
During a meeting with former Wagner employee and Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-Bek Yevkurov on Thursday, Putin reminded him that Troshev himself had fought in such a unit for more than a year.
According to Putin, Troshev is well aware of how to conduct training and resolve issues related to combat operations.
He also noted that at a previous meeting, they had discussed Troshev's plans to create voluntary units capable of performing various military tasks, primarily in the area of the "special military operation."
According to the Shot Telegram channel, Andrey Troshev will be responsible for coordinating actions between the "volunteer formations" and the Russian Ministry of Defense.
