Former Wagner militants have returned to the Bakhmut region, but their significance is estimated to be lower

Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak denied reports that the private military company Wagner had returned to the Bakhmut direction. He said this in his Telegram.

Podolyak's statement emphasizes that Wagner no longer exists after the Russian Ministry of Defense liquidated its management and structure.

Podolyak believes that the former militants either went to civilian-criminal territory inside Russia or signed a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense to temporarily close the defense gaps in the Bakhmut direction.

He also emphasized that the media attention to this event exceeds its real significance, and the purpose of this action is an attempt to distract the Ukrainian army's successes in other parts of the front.
