Chinese Foreign Ministry representative Mao Ning has demanded clarifications from the Ukrainian authorities in connection with the statement by Presidential Advisor Mykhailo Podolyak, who expressed the opinion that India and China have "low intellectual potential," RosMedia reports.
At the briefing, answering a journalist's question about Beijing's position on Podolyak's statements, Ning said: "I have no idea about the background of this statement. He should give an explanation and explain himself."
The Chinese representative also emphasized that Beijing maintains a "neutral position in the Ukrainian conflict and calls for a peaceful settlement of the situation through negotiations between Kyiv and Moscow."
