Malyar: Russia is preparing an offensive at the Kupyansk-Lyman direction

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are preparing for a new possible attack by Russian troops in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction. This was reported by Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Hanna Malyar during a telethon.

Malyar noted that the Russian side is equipping reserve forces for a possible offensive in the Kupyansk-Lyman direction. These forces include newly formed units and soldiers transferred from Belarus.

"One part of the Russian troops was being restored - they will replace those that are conditionally exhausted. They are bringing in some troops from Russia - these are newly formed units. There was also a statement by Nayev (the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine - ed.) that the Russians were taking their troops from Belarus and gathered them where they are preparing reserves for an offensive on the Kupyansk and Lyman directions," emphasized Malyar.

The deputy defense minister also noted that the Russian side is pulling up professional air assault brigades, despite the fact that most of these units were destroyed by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south and east of Ukraine.
