At least one Tu-22M3 bomber could have been destroyed as a result of an unmanned aerial vehicle attack on the Soltsy airfield in the Novgorod region on August 19. This is reported by Planet Labs.
The video shows two satellite images. The first was recorded on August 16, before the attack on the airfield. This image shows Russian Tu-22M3 bombers deployed on the ground. The images taken on August 21, two days after the attack, show a burnt mark where one of the aircraft had previously been. The images also do not show any other bombers.
It is worth noting that the UP publication, citing its intelligence sources, reports the complete destruction of two Tu-22M3 strategic bombers and damage to two other aircraft. According to the source, the attacks on the airfields were carried out by quadcopters from the territory of the Russian Federation.
It is important to note that official Kyiv did not report any involvement in this incident.
As we reported earlier, photos of the Russian Tu-22M3 bomber missile carrier were posted online yesterday, August 19, at the Soltsy military airfield in the Novgorod region.
