The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine made a statement regarding the movement of ships in the waters of the Black Sea. We are talking about ships that sail to the ports of the Russian Federation or to those located in the occupied territories.
This is reported by the Ministry of Defense.
As stated in the department, Russia began to openly threaten civilian ships transporting food products from Ukrainian ports. In recent days, the Kremlin has turned the Black Sea into a danger zone. The responsibility for all risks lies entirely with the Russian leadership.
In addition, the Ministry of Defense noted that the fate of the cruiser "Moskva" proves that the Defense Forces of Ukraine have the necessary means to repel Russian aggression at sea.
"The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine warns that from 00:00 on July 21, 2023, all vessels heading in the waters of the Black Sea in the direction of seaports of the Russian Federation and Ukrainian seaports located on the territory of Ukraine temporarily occupied by Russia may be considered by Ukraine as , which transport military goods with all the corresponding risks," the message said.
Also, from 05:00 on July 20, 2023, in the areas of the North-Eastern part of the Black Sea and the Kerch-Yenikal Strait of Ukraine, navigation is prohibited as dangerous.
"Relevant navigational information for seafarers has already been made public," the Ministry of Defense wrote.
None of the international partners is yet ready to protect vessels within the framework of a possible alternative "grain agreement" without the Russian Federation. Ukraine also does not yet have such military capabilities.
This was stated by the Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Vasyl Bodnar, during a briefing.
"Today, none of the international partners is ready to take responsibility for the physical protection of ships or engage in armed clashes with Russia. Only Ukraine is conducting hostilities. Unfortunately, we do not have the capabilities to secure ships militarily," he said.
It is worth recalling that after Russia's announcement to withdraw from the "grain agreement", the aggressor country launched large-scale shelling of southern Ukraine. Tonight, the Russian Federation launched a third consecutive massive combined attack on Ukrainian cities using cruise missiles and kamikaze drones. Mykolaiv and Odesa were affected.
Russia's withdrawal from the "grain agreement"
On July 17, the Kremlin refused to extend the "grain agreement". The press secretary of the Russian dictator Dmytro Peskov said that the agreements regarding the "grain initiative" have actually been terminated.
After that, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, offered Turkey and the UN to continue the "grain initiative" in a tripartite format. The state is considering the possibility of transporting food through the territorial waters of Romania and Bulgaria.
On July 19, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation threatened that any countries under whose flags ships will be sent to Ukrainian ports will be considered involved in the war.
At the same time, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin said that Russia will resume its participation in the "grain agreement" only if the West fulfills a number of demands.
