Blowing up Kakhovskaya HPP: six EU countries responded to Ukraine's request and sent humanitarian aid

After Russian occupiers blew up Kakhovskaya HPP, six partner countries of the European Union responded to Ukraine's request and provided humanitarian aid. Oleksandr Vasylenko, director of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, informed about this at the briefing.

"As of lunchtime on June 6, we submitted the first requests for assistance to the European civil protection mechanism. The European Civil Protection Mechanism unites all EU member states and partner countries, including non-EU countries such as Norway and Switzerland. Already today, we received the first help: six EU countries responded to our request. A request was sent from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. He also had a request from the Ministry of Health. To date, Poland, Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and Finland have provided humanitarian aid," Vasylenko informed.

According to the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ukraine received 20,000 dry rations, inflatable boats, generators and pumps from partners.

"We are currently in active communication with all our partners, both bilaterally and multilaterally, in order to receive all the necessary medicines on time," she added.

Ukraine also activated the dialogue with the EADRCC (NATO Crisis Center). In particular, a briefing by the Minister of Foreign Affairs will be held on Thursday, which will inform NATO member states about what is happening in Ukraine.

"Also, we will continue the dialogue with them to build assistance mechanisms in this crisis situation," Vasylenko concluded.
