Ukraine planned to blow up the Kakhovskaya HPP, this will not harm the offensive, - Naev

The Ukrainian military command foresaw the possibility of the Russians undermining the Kakhovskaya HPP. The situation should not harm the counteroffensive of Ukrainian fighters.

This was reported by the commander of the United Forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Serhii Naev.

"As for the Kakhovskaya HPP, the military command anticipated hostile actions in advance, including actions to undermine the Kakhovskaya HPP," he said.

According to him, there are relevant calculations that are known to the military command regarding the damage that may occur as a result of the water spill.

So, currently, the relevant command in this direction is taking measures, first of all, for the safety of the civilian population together with the heads of state authorities on the ground.

"As for hindering our offensive actions, the military command fully took into account such enemy insidious actions, and accordingly, it should not harm our offensive in those directions where water may be spilled," Nayev emphasized.

Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the NSDC, noted that nothing and no one will stop the liberation of Ukraine, whose time has come.

Up to 80 settlements are at risk of flooding due to the destruction of dams. At the same time, 150 tons of machine oil got into the Dnipro, and there is also a risk of further leakage.

The danger from explosive objects has increased in flooded zones in the Kherson region, because enemy mine barriers are under water and can be swept away by the current.

Meanwhile, a number of settlements were under water due to a man-made disaster.
