The SSU stated the reasons for the searches in "Dumska": Not related to the publication's activities

Law enforcement officers in Odesa are searching the places of work and residence of suspects in the raiding of state property. They are not related to the work of the "Dumskaya.net" publication.

This was reported in the press service of the SSU.

"Employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police are conducting investigative actions at the work and residence addresses of those involved in the criminal proceedings, who are suspected of raiding state property and embezzling budget funds in the Odesa region," law enforcement officers say.

According to their data, within the framework of this case, the deputy of the local regional council, as well as his wife and assistant, have already been informed of the suspicion.

The investigation continues to establish the circumstances of the crime and bring all those responsible to justice. At the same time, searches are being conducted in the office premises where the publication "Dumskaya.net" is located, the SSU added.

"All the actions of the law enforcement officers are carried out in compliance with the legislation and do not in any way concern the journalistic activity of the publication "Dumskaya.net," the law enforcement officers say.

According to RBC-Ukraine sources in the law enforcement agencies, one of the persons involved in the criminal case about the raider's seizure is Mykola Derevyanko, a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council from the "European Solidarity" faction, and he was also informed of the suspicion.

His wife, who was also charged with suspicion, is the sister of Oleksiy Goncharenko, a People's Deputy from the "European Solidarity" party.

According to the sources, Derevyanko could hand over the seals of the company, which appears in the case of raider capture, to his colleague Mykhailo Shmushkovych, a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council from "European Solidarity". Seals are actual physical evidence in criminal proceedings.

Correspondence between Derevyanka and Shmushkovich, where they discuss the transfer of seals to each other, was found in the possession of the mass media. In addition, Shmushkovich is also the actual owner of the publication "Dumskaya.net", whose office was raided.

It is worth noting that even last week, the Security Service of Ukraine exposed a deputy of the Odesa Regional Council and his wife, who could organize a raider seizure of land near the sea. The names of the official and his wife were not disclosed at the time.

We will remind you that today, May 10, the SSU began conducting searches in the "Dumska" editorial office. Representatives of the publication believe that such actions are allegedly related to criticism of the "Servant of the People" party and its individual members.

We also wrote that last week the mayor of Odesa, Gennady Trukhanov, was taken into custody, but later bail was posted for him.
