The head of the IAEA called Zelenskyi: efforts to protect the Zaporizhzhia NPP are ongoing

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Grossi, said that he spoke by phone with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, and stated that efforts to protect the Zaporizhzhya NPP are ongoing.

 

 "I had the honor to speak with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi on the 37th anniversary of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP and to announce to him the IAEA program for providing medical assistance to personnel at all Ukrainian nuclear power plants (NPPs).  The Minister of Energy of Ukraine, Herman Galushchenko, stated that while Russian troops are present on the territory of the largest nuclear power plant in Europe - the Zaporizhzhya NPP - danger will exist for all of humanity.

 

 Zelenskyі, in a statement on the 37th anniversary of the accident at the Chornobyl NPP, emphasized that everything must be done to prevent the terrorist state from using nuclear energy facilities to blackmail Ukraine and the whole world.
