The leader of one of the groups of the terrorist organization "Islamic State" was detained in Georgia. We are talking about Malkhaz Paksashvili.

 According to the newspaper, referring to the data of the Security Service of Georgia, this person left Georgia in 2013, went to Syria and joined the terrorist organization "Islamic State".

 

 "In 2013-2015, he was considered to be in the ranks of the group of so-called "military emirs" of the brothers Caesar and Tsiskara Tokhosashvili, and took an active part in combat operations and attacks carried out by the specified terrorist organization," the report says.

 

 It is stated that the detainee had close ties with high-ranking commanders of the "Islamic State" and held the position of the so-called "Naiba" in one of the groups of the specified terrorist organization.

 

 The case is currently being investigated under Article 328 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for membership in a terrorist organization of a foreign state and aiding in terrorist activities.

 

 The crime is punishable by imprisonment for 10 to 17 years.
