On Tuesday, April 18, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) conducted unannounced inspections at the Rivne and Khmelnytskyi nuclear power plants, UNN reports with reference to the website of the State Inspection of Nuclear Regulation of Ukraine.

It is noted that the inspection was carried out within the framework of the agreement between Ukraine and the IAEA on the application of guarantees in connection with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons. Inspections were carried out by Agency inspectors with the participation of State Nuclear Regulation inspectors.

"The purpose of the inspections is to verify the absence of undeclared nuclear material. There were no comments from the IAEA inspectors," the message reads.

In January 2023, the IAEA launched missions at the Rivne and Chornobyl NPPs.
