Forbes estimates Bidzina Ivanishvili's fortune at $4.9 billion

In the ranking of the richest people in the world according to Forbes, ex-prime minister of Georgia and founder of the ruling party "Georgian Dream" Bidzina Ivanishvili ranks 544th.

 

 Forbes estimates his fortune at $4.9 billion. This is 100 million more than in 2022.

 

 The message published on the publication's website states that the Swiss bank Credit Suisse paid Ivanishvili $210 million in December 2022.

 

 Note that Bloomberg estimates the fortune of the ex-prime minister of Georgia at $5.95 billion and ranks him 407th among the richest people on the planet.

 

 The annual ranking of the world's richest people according to Forbes was headed by the head of the French group LVMH, Bernard Arnault. The businessman's fortune is estimated at 211 billion dollars. The second place in the ranking was taken by Tesla owner Elon Musk with a fortune of 180 billion dollars. Amazon founder Jeff Bezos rounds out the top three. His fortune is estimated at 114 billion dollars.

 

 According to Forbes, Andriy Melnychenko, the owner of the Eurochem company, became the richest Russian with a fortune of more than 25 billion dollars. In total, the Forbes list includes 110 Russians - 22 more than last year, but less than in 2021. At that time, Russia was represented by 123 businessmen.

 

 Businessman Bidzina Ivanishvili entered politics in 2011, created the opposition coalition "Georgian Dream", won the 2012 parliamentary elections with it and headed the Cabinet of Ministers of Georgia. In 2013, after the victory of George Margvelashvili in the presidential elections, Ivanishvili resigned from the post of prime minister and refused to chair the party, officially leaving politics.
