The President of Georgia - to the Ukrainians: you are fighting for our freedom and European future

During her visit to Vilnius, the President of Georgia, Salome Zurabishvili, took part in a meeting in support of the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine, during which she addressed the Ukrainians present there.

This was reported in the administration of the President of Georgia.

The meeting took place on Cathedral Square in memory of the victims of Russian violence in Buch, Irpen, Borodyanka and other cities of Ukraine. Zurabishvili said that this meeting was not planned, instead she "simply wanted to share this moment with Ukrainians and convey the solidarity of the Georgian people."

"Lithuania is one of the countries that, like Ukraine and Georgia, know what the experience of Russian occupation and aggression means. Many people in Europe repeat that you are fighting for our future and our freedom, but we know from our own experience that you are fighting for our freedom and European future," the Georgian president said.

She expressed her belief that Georgia and Ukraine will be together in Europe.

"This will be thanks to the exceptionally courageous struggle of your soldiers and your citizens, who together carry out this remarkable resistance. Glory to Ukraine!" - said the president of Georgia during his speech, which was attended by Ukrainians.

Recently, Zurabishvili criticized the current government of the country, noting that it speaks the same language as Moscow when it comes to the opening of the so-called "second front" against the Russian Federation.

Zurabishvili believes that the future diplomatic settlement of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine should also include the withdrawal of Russian troops from the occupied Georgian territories.
