In recent weeks, there has been a steady increase in the incidence of Covid-19 in Ukraine. Fedir Lapii, head of the National Technical Group of Experts on Immunoprophylaxis, said this during the briefing.

 "In recent weeks we have had a fairly steady increase in the number of Covid-19 cases. Steady for the past five weeks. There was a bit of a lull at the beginning of January, but for the last five weeks we've had a weekly increase in the number of officially confirmed Covid-19 cases "We have not yet reached the October peak, but we have about 15,000 cases (diseases - ed.) for the past week," he said.

 According to Lapin, the number of deaths from the coronavirus and hospitalizations is now up to 100 people per week. He added that this indicator is half as much as in the fall, while growth is observed.

 "The statistics remain sad for us with disappointing forecasts that more than 85% of the dead are people over 60 years old, who should not just be vaccinated with two doses, but should also have received the first "booster dose," he said.

 The chief state sanitary doctor of Ukraine, Ihor Kuzin, said in a comment that the rise in the incidence of COVID-19 in Ukraine will be observed until mid-March, and after that there will be a gradual decline.
