It is known that Russia and Kazakhstan concluded an agreement on the mutual opening of trade offices in 1992. The representative office of Kazakhstan opened in Moscow in 2009, and there is another branch in Kazan.

Previously, Kazakhstan announced plans to close the representative office. The country's Ministry of Industry and Trade explained its intention to optimize the work of republican state bodies.

It will be recalled that the rules for the stay of foreigners, including Russians, have recently been tightened in Kazakhstan. Now citizens of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) can stay in the country for no more than 90 days during six months.
