"It will be a reminder": in London, the road near the Russian embassy was painted blue-yellow

In Britain, the road near the Russian embassy was painted in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag.

On the morning of February 23, activists painted one of the central London streets near the Russian embassy in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag. Such an action took place before the anniversary of the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine.

This was reported by My London.

Photos posted on social media showed Bayswater Road near Hyde Park in Kensington completely covered in blue and yellow flowers.

Four people, including three men and a woman, have been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and obstruction of traffic on a highway, Metropolitan Police confirmed. They were taken to a police station in west London, where they remain today. The police say that all the circumstances of the protest are being investigated.

It should be noted that the protest action near the Russian embassy was organized by the "Led by Donkeys" campaign. They said that it was dedicated to the first anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

"Tomorrow is the first anniversary of Putin's [full-scale] imperialist invasion of Ukraine. Contrary to the claims of the Russian dictator and his apologists, Ukraine is an independent state and a people with a full right to self-determination. The existence of a huge Ukrainian flag at his (Putin's - ed.) embassy serves him a reminder of that," Led by Donkeys said.

The campaign participants said that they had to pour 170 liters of yellow and blue paint on the road. Activists added that the paint was "high-quality, non-toxic, solvent-free, environmentally friendly, quick-drying, designed for creating road art." The drivers who drove past smeared the paint on the road themselves.
