The temporary performance of the duties of the Head of the National Police is entrusted to Ivan Vyhivskyi. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted the corresponding decision today, January 20.
Starting today, the head of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in Kyiv, Ivan Vyhivskyi, will temporarily perform the duties of the Head of the National Police of Ukraine.
According to the decision of the Government, on January 18, the Head of the National Police Ihor Klymenko assumed the post of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs - Head of the National Police of Ukraine and at the same time began to perform the duties of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
On January 18, a helicopter of the State Emergency Service crashed near a kindergarten and a residential building in Brovary. On board was the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs as part of an operational group of 6 people, as well as 3 crew members.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, announced that the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Denys Monastyrskyi, his first deputy Yevhen Yenin, and State Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Yuriy Lubkovich were among those killed in the plane crash in Brovary.
Speaking about the circumstances of the tragedy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs noted that the leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs should have gone by helicopter on a business trip to one of the "hot" spots where hostilities are taking place.
The Security Service of Ukraine announced that it has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the crash of the helicopter in Brovary. Several versions are considered, including: violation of flight rules; technical malfunction of the helicopter; intentional actions to destroy a vehicle.
