The European Parliament adopted the relevant resolution on the special tribunal for the Russian Federation and Belarus

The European Parliament adopted a resolution calling for the creation of an international tribunal on crimes of aggression by Russia and Belarus against Ukraine.

This was reported by the Twitter of the Brussels correspondent of "Radio Liberty" Rikard Jozwiak.

"The European Parliament has just voted in favor of a non-binding resolution calling for the creation of a special international court to prosecute crimes of aggression against Ukraine by Russia, noting that it should investigate not only Putin and the Russian leadership, but also Lukashenka and leadership of Belarus," the journalist wrote.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyі welcomed the adoption of the resolution on the crime of aggression against Ukraine.

"I call on all our partners to support such a tribunal. Russia must be held accountable for its aggressive war, justice must prevail," the president wrote.

It will be recalled that Zelenskyі called on the European Parliament to adopt a separate resolution on the creation of a special tribunal on the crime of Russian aggression.

In addition, in December 2022, France announced the start of work on the creation of a special tribunal.
