Dispersal of students on the Maidan: ex-Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council Sivkovich will be tried

The State Bureau of Investigation reported that Volodymyr Sivkovich, former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, will be tried for organizing the dispersal of the student Maidan.

"According to the materials of the SBI, an indictment was sent to the court against the former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine for organizing the dispersal of the "student Maidan", - the message says.

The SBI employees established that the former employee of the KGB of the USSR went to work for the state authorities of Ukraine on the instructions of his supervisors.

"Over time, Volodymyr Sivkovych became the deputy secretary of the National Security Service of Ukraine and received the military rank of reserve major general before Ukraine's Independence Day in 2013. Within three months, with his direct participation, the organization of the beating of participants in one of the first youth protest actions for the European integration course of our country took place." - informed the GBR.

As noted in the bureau, "now he is one of the leaders of the anti-Ukrainian movement created by the Russian special services." This, too, will not remain unnoticed by our investigation and justice, the GBR added.

"Sivkovych, on the instructions of the President of Ukraine and the Secretary of the National Security Service of Ukraine, "recalled" the skills of recruitment and pressure acquired in the KGB. Due to his instructions, on the night of November 29-30, 2013, the head of the Main Department of the Metropolitan Police ordered the violent dispersal of a peaceful protest action - "student "Maidan" in the center of Kyiv, the bureau reported.

According to the SGB, "during an urgent night meeting in the office of the head of the capital police department under the leadership of the deputy secretary of the National Security Service of Ukraine, a clearly criminal order was given." "In particular, he provided for the involvement of the Berkut special unit to use force against the protesters. The "clearing" of the Independence Maidan from patriotic youth was supposed to take place under the pretext of ensuring the alleged installation of a New Year's tree," the SGB said.

The actions of the accused are qualified under Part 3 of Art. 27, Art. 340, Part 3 of Art. 27, Part 2 of Art. 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

According to the petitions of the SBI investigator, approved by the prosecutor, and the decisions of the investigating judge, a preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen in absentia for the specified person.

Justices were given permission to carry out a special pre-trial investigation against Sivkovich, as he fled and is hiding in the territory of Russia - the aggressor state, whose agent he was in Ukraine and for which he worked, the bureau added.
