Greece and Turkey held secret talks amid worsening relations

Last week, secret negotiations between Greece and Turkey were held in Brussels with the mediation of Germany.

This was reported by the Greek service DW.

The publication notes that the information was confirmed on Monday by the spokesman of the German federal government, Steffen Gebeshreit.

"I can confirm that such a meeting took place, but the content of such negotiations is confidential and that makes sense. The Prime Minister of Greece and the President of Turkey responded very positively to Germany's request regarding the feasibility of holding such a meeting. So the meeting took place and more similar ones are expected contacts," he said.

He also noted that so far there is no question of permanent mediation between the countries, but further contacts between them are expected.

We will remind, earlier during his speech in the city of Samsun, Erdogan said that Turkey produces its own ballistic missiles. "Of course, this production scares the Greeks. When you say 'Typhoon', the Greeks get scared and say, 'It will hit Athens.' and from there, from America to the islands," he said.

In Greece, they said that they consider threats to hit Athens with missiles similar to "North Korean sentiments".
