In response to statements by members of the American administration about the danger of military cooperation between Russia and Iran for the countries of the Middle East, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran, Nasser Kanani, said that this is "American propaganda".
This is reported by the BBC.
US and UK officials have repeatedly said in recent weeks that in exchange for the supply of kamikaze drones, with which Russia attacks Ukraine and especially its energy infrastructure, Moscow will hand over its latest fighter jets and other advanced weapons to Tehran. Tehran says it has not supplied Russia with combat drones since the start of the full-scale war, and Moscow has denied buying such weapons at all.
According to Washington, in the hands of the Iranians, the latest Russian weapons will become a threat to American allies in the Middle East. This message is clearly directed at Israel, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf states, which, despite their deep antagonism with Iran, are reluctant to join efforts to weaken Russia.
These are not only sanctions: Israel refuses to supply Ukraine with military weapons and high-tech intelligence tools, Arab countries do not listen to Western calls to extract more oil.
A representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that Tehran is acting out of its national interests, "acts independently in regulating its foreign relations and does not ask permission from anyone," he was quoted by France Press.
