Russian troops are storming the Bakhmut and Avdiiv areas. In order to improve their position in a number of other directions, they are trying to build up groups. This is reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"The adversary continues to focus its efforts on conducting offensive operations in the Bakhmut and Avdiiv directions. It is trying to improve the tactical position in the Lyman direction, and in the Kupyan and Zaporizhzhya directions, it is building up groups," the General Staff writes.
During the day, the Russians launched 2 missile strikes, as well as more than 5 shelling from multiple rocket launchers, as a result of which the civilian infrastructure of Nikopol and Kherson was damaged. There are also casualties among civilians.
The situation in the directions:
in the Volyn, Polis, and Siver directions, the situation has not changed significantly, and no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups have been detected. The expansion of the aviation group and units of the armed forces of the Russian Federation on the territory of the Republic of Belarus continues;
in the Slobozhansk direction, the enemy carried out tank and artillery shelling in the areas of Visoka Yaruga, Morokhovets, Staritsa, Dvorichna and Novomlynsk settlements of the Kharkiv region;
in the Kupyansk direction, the areas of Olshana, Kislivka, Kotlyarivka, Berestov, Pervomaiske in Kharkiv region and Stelmakhivka and Myasozharivka in Luhansk region were hit by fire;
in the Lyman direction, the enemy shelled the Makiivka and Chervonopivka regions of the Luhansk region and the Torsky and Vedmezhi regions of the Donetsk region with tanks, mortars, barrel and rocket artillery;
in the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy carried out shelling, in particular, in the areas of Verkhnyokamyanskyi, Spirnyi, Bilogorivka, Soledar, Bakhmutskyi, Bakhmut, Andriyivka, Kurdyumivka, Ozaranivka, Northern and Experienced Donetsk oblasts;
in the Avdiivka direction, the occupiers tried to attack the positions of our troops near Avdiivka, Pershotravnevo, Nevelskyi, Georgiivka, Maryinka, and Novomykhailivka in the Donetsk region;
in the Zaporizhzhya and Kherson directions, the enemy continues to shell the positions of our troops and civilian infrastructure along the right bank of the Dnipro River. In particular, the areas of Vremivka and Novopil settlements of Donetsk region; Gulyaipole, Dorozhnyanka, Gulyaipilske, Orihiv and Stepove - Zaporizhzhya; Nikopol in the Dnipropetrovsk region and Novotyaginka, Ivanivka, Tokarivka, Kherson, Ingulets and Bilozerka in the Kherson region.
"The enemy continues to suffer losses. For example, on December 13, in the areas of Tokmak, Pology and Berdyansk settlements of the Zaporizhzhia region, the Defense Forces destroyed two enemy ammunition depots, two artillery systems with ammunition, as well as six units of military equipment of various types. More than 200 servicemen were injured. ", the General Staff reports.
Also, during the day, our aviation made 11 strikes on the areas of the enemy's personnel, weapons and military equipment, as well as 2 strikes on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems.
As the General Staff notes, our gunners hit 2 control points, 4 areas where the enemy's personnel were concentrated, as well as a warehouse of fuel and lubricants.
