British intelligence assesses unsuccessful counterattacks by Russian troops

In its latest intelligence report, published on September 25, the UK Ministry of Defense noted that Russian occupation forces attempted local counterattacks to deter the Ukrainian Armed Forces' advance, but these attacks were unsuccessful.

In particular, they noted the attempts of the Russian occupiers to hold their positions on the Orikhiv and Bakhmut directions.

British intelligence also cited comments from the Russian military that showed deep frustration among those who took part in these counterattacks, especially near Bakhmut. They point to "ill-conceived" offensive actions, lack of artillery support, and significant losses.

According to British intelligence, Russia's occupation forces in Ukraine have shown the ability to conduct persistent defensive operations, but not offensive actions.

Russian military commanders are trying to ensure coordination, increase stocks of artillery equipment, and maintain the morale of their troops.

This report shows that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are capable of defending their positions during attacks by the Russian occupiers.
