US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping on Monday held talks in Bali, where the G20 summit is taking place, and discussed the situation in Ukraine, the White House said.
"The two leaders exchanged views on regional and global issues. President Biden raised the issue of Russia's brutal war against Ukraine and Russia's irresponsible threats to use nuclear weapons," the US administration said in a press release.
In addition, the report noted that President Biden and President Xi Jinping reiterated their view that a nuclear war should never happen and that there can be no winners.
The heads of state also noted that they oppose the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine.
"Biden and President Xi Jinping confirmed their agreement that a nuclear war should never be fought and that it cannot be won, and emphasized their disagreement with the use or threat of use of nuclear weapons in Ukraine," the report said.
