The disconnection of new Russian banks from SWIFT should become part of the ninth package of EU sanctions - Kuleba

The disconnection of new Russian banks from SWIFT should become part of the ninth package of EU sanctions against Russia, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba.

"Now the work on the ninth package (of sanctions) of the EU begins. I was very frank. First of all, I very specifically mentioned what (exactly) Ukraine expects in this ninth package of sanctions. This, including disconnection of new Russian banks from SWIFT. I do not understand at all why they stopped doing this, what are the obstacles - there is no rational explanation for this. More precisely, there is: we know about them, but they are not enough," Kuleba said in a video message to Facebook on Monday.

He added that Ukraine is aware of the fact that some countries have started talking about fatigue from sanctions.

"Today I told my European colleagues very simple words: neither Ukrainians nor EU citizens can afford to be tired. Just as we cannot tire of fighting for our state, European security and prosperity, they also cannot tire of applying sanctions," - emphasized the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.

Kuleba emphasized that for the first time in the history of Ukrainian-Iranian relations, he called for sanctions against Iryna. According to him, these sanctions should be a signal for the countries that Russia is asking for military assistance.

We listened for a long time to different explanations, different arguments. But you can't hide the truth, and today this truth flew to the houses of the city of Kyiv. Therefore, it is time to apply sanctions against Iran for supplying weapons to the Russian Federation. also a signal to other countries that Russia is turning to for military assistance now (and we know that it is doing this): anyone who dares to help Russia should immediately suffer and feel the price of it," Kuleba said.
