Russia threatened the U.S. with severing diplomatic relations if it is recognized as a terrorist state

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow may sever diplomatic relations with the United States if Russia is recognized as a state sponsor of terrorism. This was reported by the Russian Interfax

"Such application of its own legislation, which contradicts international law, may be seen by senators and congressmen as some kind of terrible execution capable of forcing Russia to live according to a rule-based world order invented by the United States," Zakharova said at a briefing.

"It is somehow forgotten that any action generates counteraction, and the logical result of such an irresponsible step could also be a break in diplomatic relations, by which Washington risks finally crossing the point of no return with all the ensuing consequences," she added.
