British intelligence explained why the Russians are storming the Uglegorsk thermal power plant

Russian and separatist forces continue to attempt small-scale attacks along the front line in Donbas and are approaching the Uglegorsk thermal power plant.

This was stated in a daily report from British intelligence.

"Russian forces are likely approaching Ukraine's second-largest power plant, Uglegorsk, 50 kilometers northeast of Donetsk. Russia is prioritizing the capture of critical national infrastructure, such as power plants," the report said.

At the same time, it is noted that the attempt to break through to the Uglegorsk TPP is linked to the intention of Russian forces to restore momentum on the southern edge of their advance to Kramatorsk and Sloviansk.

According to the General Staff, over the past 24 hours, the Russian invaders have been storming the Uglegorska TPP, but the Ukrainian defenders forced the enemy to retreat.
