Amazon has received the "Peace Award", which is given for its support of Ukraine. This was announced by the Minister of Digital Transformation Mikhail Fedorov.
"Yesterday we met with Amazon. Even before the war started, they started giving us the capacity to store registry backups. This is tens of millions of dollars of support. By the way, many people at the company are working after hours, pro bono in projects to support Ukraine," Fedorov wrote.
The Ministry of Digital noted that Amazon helped save Ukraine's digital infrastructure during the war. In particular, the migration of Ukraine's state registries and critical databases to Amazon's AWS cloud environment was critical. In addition, from the first days of the war, the company banned the registration of new customers from Russia and Belarus.
The Peace Award is an award founded by President Volodymyr Zelensky for the companies, governments, and world politicians most supportive of Ukraine.
