The president of Switzerland has announced that he will double his support for Ukraine to more than 100 million francs (more than $100 million) by the end of 2023.
Ignazio Cassis said this at a conference on Ukraine's reconstruction in Lugano on Tuesday.
"Against the backdrop of the war and with the goal of reconstruction, we must increase our support. Switzerland will double its funding in cooperation with Ukraine to 100 million Swiss francs by the end of 2023," Cassis said.
In addition, Cassis added, Switzerland provides funding through Ukraine's multilateral partners - the UN, the OSCE, the Red Cross, the World Bank and the EBRD.
In addition, Cassis announced the allocation of at least CHF 15 million for Ukraine's digital transformation.
Kassis also emphasized that it is important for Ukraine to continue to reform despite the war, because these changes increase its resilience and lay the groundwork for successful recovery.
