The hottest areas of the front remain the settlements in the southern and southeastern directions from Severodonetsk - Ministry of Defense

The hottest parts of the front remain settlements in the southern and southeastern directions from Severodonetsk, Ukrainian Defense Ministry spokesman Oleksandr Motuzyanik said.

"The hottest areas of the front remain settlements in the southern and southeastern directions from Severodonetsk. The enemy has significantly increased the number of air raids, strikes on Lysychansk and surrounding settlements have destroyed a huge number of buildings," Motuzyanyk said at a briefing at the Ukraine Media Center in Kiev on Friday.

He specified that the settlements of Borovskoye, Verkhnekamyanka, Mykolayivka, and Bila Gora are under fire by the Russian occupiers.

"The enemy seeks to establish full control over Severodonetsk, is conducting offensives to try to encircle our troops near Lisichansk and block the main logistics routes. Heavy fighting continues, the enemy is trying to consolidate in the areas of Loskutovka and Rayalexandrovka settlements," said Motuzyanyk.

The speaker pointed out that in the Bakhmut direction fighting continues in the area of Nikolaevka and Berestovoye.

"In order to reduce the capacity of Ukrainian troops, the enemy used assault and army aviation, striking in the direction of the villages of Maple, Yakovlevka and Pokrovske," he noted.

The Defense Ministry spokesman also informed that the Russians had moved a battery of S-300 surface-to-air missile systems from Russian territory to the area of combat operations in order to provide air cover for the offensive grouping of their troops in the Severodonetsk and Bakhmut directions.
