The full-scale war in Ukraine that Russia has unleashed against it threatens a number of consequences. In particular, the danger of catastrophic famine and a wave of migration crisis.
This is evidenced by the report of the European institutions, published by the newspaper El País.
According to the newspaper, the EU warns that the consequences of the war in Ukraine lead to a growing risk of "catastrophic mass starvation" in North African states, which could lead to "new waves of social protest, internal displacement and migration to neighboring regions and, possibly, to the EU.
At the same time, the report indicates that Spain and Italy could be "on the front line" in the event of a migration crisis.
Thus, Brussels links this to Russia's blocking of Ukrainian grain at the ports and the rise in energy prices, which Russia blackmails the whole world with.
"Shortages of grain and other basic agricultural products, together with rising prices of basic commodities and foodstuffs, will lead to serious economic and social crises," the report says.
It is indicated that the EU intends to focus its aid on the states that have suffered most from the consequences of Russia's war against Ukraine.
We shall remind you that the European Union has recently allocated financial assistance to African countries in the amount of 1.8 billion euros to fight hunger.
We shall remind you that earlier President Vladimir Zelensky said that the war against Ukraine has already been felt by millions of African families.
