Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the country's position on the recognition of Kosovo has not changed, despite recent calls of the European Union to reconsider it. This was reported by Euractiv.
"Mutual recognition is what the EU is striving for. It's good that that's what they're aiming for, but it's not what we want. And, as I said, everyone has their own job. They have their own job, we have our own job," Vucic said.
He added that the EU-mediated dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo should focus on the normalization of relations, and not on mutual recognition.
It should be noted that a few days ago, the foreign affairs committee of the European Parliament approved a report stating that the final agreement between Serbia and Kosovo should enshrine their mutual recognition.
Parliamentarians also called on the EU to align its foreign policy with that of Europe and impose sanctions against Russia over its invasion of Ukraine.
