Law enforcers detained the head of a political party and his accomplice in Kyiv. They demanded a bribe of 2.5 million dollars for a place in the electoral list in the VRU.

This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.

We are talking about the political party "Our Edge". The detention occurred on Wednesday, June 8.

According to investigators, the head of the political party, acting in collusion with the head of the territorial cells of the same party, demanded $2.5 million from the businessman for his inclusion in the "safe" part of the party list for the elections to the Verkhovna Rada, in order to obtain the mandate of the people's deputy.

Also for this money they promised him an appointment to the position of advisor to the head of the board of Chao Kyivvodokanal, than this position was to be a "successful" start of the entrepreneur's political career.

Law enforcers found out that the bribe was to be given to accomplices according to a schedule made by the head of the party, and the amount of the first tranche was 50 thousand dollars.

Now the question of their announcement of suspicion on the facts of fraud and abuse of influence (part 4 of article 190, part 3 of article 369-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) is being solved. Investigative actions are continuing.
