At least 724 children suffered at the hands of Russian captors

At least 724 children have suffered as a result of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, 261 of whom were killed, the Office of the Prosecutor General said.

"More than 724 children have been affected in Ukraine as a result of the full-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation. As of the morning of June 3, 2022, the official number of child victims has not changed during the day - 261. The number of wounded has increased - 463," the report says.

The most injured children, as noted, in the Donetsk region - 187, Kyiv - 116, Kharkiv - 112, Chernihiv - 68, Lugansk - 52, Kherson - 52, Mykolaiv - 47, Zaporozhzhia - 29, Sumy - 17, in the city of Kyiv - 16, Zhitomyr - 15.

These figures are not final, as work is under way to identify them in places of active combat operations, in the temporarily occupied and liberated territories.

Thus, during the recording of criminal offenses it became known about the wounding of three children in the city of Mariupol, Donetsk region.

Due to constant bombing and shelling of Ukrainian towns and villages by the Russian armed forces, 1,938 educational institutions were damaged. At the same time, 182 of them were completely destroyed, the Office of the Prosecutor General pointed out.
