The International Committee of the Red Cross said that the video from their office in Mariupol, where the occupants "host", posted on the Internet and circulated in some media, is full of false allegations.
"The video, which was filmed in our Mariupol office and is now circulating in some media, is full of false statements and baseless assumptions about the work of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC)," the statement said.
The ICRC pointed out, in particular, that the guidance shown in the video is commonly used by their teams working to defuse dangerous objects to avoid accidents. "Following full transparency with the authorities, we have been distributing hatcheries for the past few years as part of agroeconomic programs to help families raise poultry. Any suggestion that these hatcheries are for anything else is nonsensical," the organization added.
"The video also claims that the ICRC has a stack of children's medical records. But the ICRC does not collect any such documents. The video also insinuates that the ICRC is involved in organ trafficking. This is another categorically false accusation," the report said.
"The goals of the ICRC are purely humanitarian in nature. We do encounter some problems while working in territories affected by armed conflict, but our work is aimed at alleviating suffering, that's all. We believe that most people will recognize untrue and hasty allegations when they see them," said the spokesperson of the ICRC, Jason Straziuso.
The ICRC operates in full transparency with the authorities, it added.
Note that Russian media reported that the Russian Investigative Committee said on May 29 that it would study the video footage of the inspection of the ICRC base in Mariupol, where they allegedly found "hundreds of medical records of children" with healthy organs marked on them, and would give this information a "legal assessment.
