To win the war, not the battle, we sometimes retreat and leave populated areas - the head of the Luhansk RSA

The head of the Luhansk regional military administration, Serhiy Haidai, explained when the turning point in the battle for Donbass might come. According to him, the withdrawal of the Ukrainian military from Svitlodarsk or other settlements in the region is due solely to expediency.

"From the first day all the positions of our military have been shelled, and we have been holding the line of defense for the fourth month. And it is clear that a huge number of our defense structures have been destroyed... It is clear that ours are slowly retreating to more fortified positions... Now all the forces of the Russians are thrown here, and we need to contain all this horde," the RSA head explained on air of the national marathon.

At the same time, he noted that when the Ukrainian army accumulates the necessary amount of forces and means, in particular heavy weapons and other military equipment from Western countries, it will be able to regroup and fight back against the Russian occupiers in the Luhansk region and other regions.

"It makes no sense to throw one piece of equipment into battle at a time. Believe me, one or two howitzers won't change the position, but we can just lose them... No one is draining anyone. To win the war, not the battle, we sometimes retreat and leave populated areas, but that will change in the summer," Haidai stressed.
