The fact that Ukrainian refugees in France will live in the regions due to overcrowding in the capital was told by the Ukrainian consul in France, Sergey Esaulov.
"People should keep in mind that upon arrival they will be directed to the regions, where there is accommodation, in hotels, campsites, etc. Very many French people have volunteered to host Ukrainians in their families. The main problem, the French constantly emphasize to us, is that many Ukrainian refugees want to stay in Paris, but there is no possibility of receiving them there, so the request for Ukrainians to move to the regions", - said Esaulov.
At the same time, the diplomat noted that experience shows that regional opportunities and conditions for residents of France are higher than in Paris.
Immediately after arrival, refugees are controlled by local associations, which together with the prefectures determine where they can be placed.
"So you don't have to come up with something yourself and look for places to settle on websites. This process already happens automatically, and it avoids unfavorable abuses," the consul said.
