After widespread international publicity of the genocide in Bucha, Russia's top leadership ordered the destruction of any evidence of its army's crimes in Mariupol.

According to the Mariupol City Council's Facebook page, Vadim Boychenko, the city's mayor, as recently as a week ago cautious estimates pointed to 5,000 dead.

"But given the size of the city, the catastrophic destruction, the duration of the blockade and the tough resistance, tens of thousands of Mariupol civilians could have become victims of the occupiers. Therefore, Russia is in no hurry to give the green light to the Turkish mission and other initiatives to save and completely evacuate Mariupol. In addition, all potential witnesses of the occupants' atrocities are trying to be identified through filtration camps and destroyed," Vadim Boychenko writes.

According to him, the Russians left all the dirty work for the collaborators. Eyewitnesses report that the Rashists have enlisted local and "DNR" terrorists in special mopping-up brigades. They collect and burn the bodies of Mariupol residents killed as a result of the Russian invasion. The work of these groups is coordinated directly by the self-proclaimed collaborationist mayor Konstantin Ivaschenko. For many years, he and his henchmen repeatedly tried to seize power, but in the end he managed only to become director of the Mariupol crematorium.

"The scale of the tragedy in Mariupol has not been seen by the world since the Nazi concentration camps. The Rashists turned our entire city into a death camp. Unfortunately, the eerie analogy is getting more and more confirmed. This is no longer Chechnya or Aleppo. This is the new Auschwitz and Majdanek. The world must help punish Putin's monsters," wrote Mariupol Mayor Vadim Boychenko.
