One of the last direct transport links between the EU and Russia will be terminated. This is reported by DW.
According to the Finnish railway operator VR, the express train Allegro between the Russian metropolis of St. Petersburg and the Finnish capital Helsinki will run for the last time on Sunday.
For now, the train runs twice a day.
Because of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, demand for tickets has dropped significantly. Russians are leaving the country and trying to escape to the EU by land, as all EU members have closed the skies to Russian airlines and planes.
We would like to point out that Finnish Prime Minister Sanna Marin said that the country was ready for the arrival of more refugees from Ukraine.
