Ireland's most popular newspaper, the Irish Independent, published its main editorial in Ukrainian. In this way the publishers expressed their support for Ukraine, which is fighting a war with Russia.
It is worth noting that this is the first time that the main article is not published in Irish or English. This was reported on Twitter by Kevin Doyle, head of news at the Irish Independent newspaper.
The article "Opening our hearts to the Ukrainians once and for all" takes up all the pages of the front page of the newspaper. It says that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians were forced to leave the country to save their families from Russian aggression. Ireland, among others, is accepting refugees from Ukraine.
"For the first time in its existence, Ireland's most popular newspaper, the Irish Independent, published a lead editorial in a language other than Irish or English," the report said.
Irish Independent published the main editorial in Ukrainian.
Let us remind you that the last issue of Time magazine was published with an image of a Ukrainian girl on the cover. The installation was shot specially for the edition from a drone in Lviv.
Today marks one month of war in #Ukraine. In a first, the Irish Independent has printed the main editorial in Ukrainian today. It’s only even been in Irish and English before.
