The Opposition Platform - For Life party has said that the decision of the National Security Council of Ukraine to suspend the activities of the OPLZH and a number of parties was unlawful.

We shall remind you that the NSDC suspended the activity of the Opposition Platform - For Life, Shariya Party, Nashi, Opposition Bloc, Left Opposition, Union of Left Forces, State, Progressive Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialist Party of Ukraine, Socialists Party, and Volodymyr Saldo Bloc.

The Security Council argued that they had ties to Russia; during the war of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, these parties would not be able to continue their activities.

OPFL said that the NSDC's decision "has no legal basis," and that all accusations against the party "were invented by the authorities in order to justify their inadequate actions."

"The only explanation for such a step by the authorities is illegal political raiding and unscrupulous political struggle with their main opponent. Instead of political dialogue, searching for a compromise, and ways to unite the country, the authorities have relied on raiding, intimidation, repression, and reprisals against their opponents.

Political considerations for the ruling party were above the interests of the Ukrainian state and the rights of millions of Ukrainian voters who voted for our political force in parliamentary and local elections," the party stated.

The party said that it had to remember its "responsibilities before Ukraine" and called on all its MPs, members and activists to continue their work, "to protect the interests of people and help them in every possible way. The party of Yuri Boyko, Vadim Rabinovich, Viktor Medvedchuk and Sergei Lyovochkin added that they would appeal "any illegal decisions."

"Our entire party team continues to work on an effective renewed party-political structure, whose main goal will be the unification of all citizens of Ukraine on the basis of peace, respect for the rights of everyone regardless of nationality, beliefs and social status!", - stated in OPFL.

It should be recalled that members of OPFL repeatedly traveled to Russia and demonstrated to negotiate, even though the Ukrainian authorities did not authorize them to do so.

On the first day of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine, February 24, OPFL MP Ilya Kiva said from abroad that "the Ukrainian people need dismissal" and that "Ukrainians, Belarusians and Russians are one people." Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova announced the suspicion of Kiva, the Verkhovna Rada deprived him of his mandate on March 15.
