Alexander Lukashenko stated that he did not support Russia's military action against Ukraine. According to him, the war itself is not acceptable.

He said this in an interview with the channel TBS.

"I did not and will never support any military action. So that you understand and know neither on the part of Russia, nor on the part of Japan, nor on the part of Ukraine, nor on the part of America, war is unacceptable. As for our relations and support to Russia in any situation, we are allies, we have signed the appropriate treaties," said Lukashenko.

Alexander Lukashenko also said that Belarus has no plans to place any kind of nuclear weapons on its territory. Sputnik.

"I have no plans to place nuclear weapons here, to produce nuclear weapons here, to create and use the nuclear weapons against anyone. It has never been in the plans of the Belarusian leadership or in my plans," said Lukashenko.

According to him, if the USA, France and Great Britain were to deploy nuclear weapons in the immediate vicinity of Belarus, for instance in Poland, Lithuania or Ukraine, his country would have to demand from Kremlin President Vladimir Putin to return the weapons, once given to Russia.

Earlier Lukashenko said that the Belarusian army would not participate in the war against Ukraine. According to him, Belarus is not going to get involved in the "operation" that Russia is conducting in Ukraine.
