Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation conducted searches of a number of MPs from the faction OPZZ who illegally crossed or planned to cross the state border of Ukraine. This was reported on Tuesday by the press service of the State Bureau of Investigation.
It is reported that the investigative actions were conducted within the framework of the pre-trial investigation into the misconduct of law enforcement officials who assisted certain individuals, including people's deputies of Ukraine, in the illegal crossing of the state border.
In particular, MP Vadym Rabinovych had three guns and large amounts of cash in hryvnias and dollars seized, MP Viktor Chernyi had two grenades (F-1 and RGD-5), and MP Oleg Voloshyn had a gun found among other things.
Criminal proceedings were initiated under Part 3 Article 365 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (abuse of power or official authority by a law enforcement officer, resulting in grave consequences).
The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of seven to ten years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or engage in certain activities for up to three years.
Recall that earlier an MP from the faction of OPZJ Nestor Shufrych was detained by the Teroboroni battalion for trying to photograph a roadblock.
