More than 7 thousand Ukrainians evacuated from besieged cities in one day - Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that over 7,000 more people had been evacuated from four settlements in Ukraine on March 11. Volodymyr Zelensky said this in a video address to Ukrainians and the world on the night of March 12.

"Today Russian troops disrupted the work of most humanitarian corridors. But despite everything, it was possible to save 7144 people from Energodar, Bucha, Gostomel, Kozarovichi. And this is 7144 reasons to try to organize rescue for Ukrainians from the surrounded cities tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. We will do it. We will do everything to bring humanitarian cargo to Ukrainian cities," Zelensky said.

The president added that now Mariupol remains blockaded by the occupants. Russian troops have not allowed humanitarian aid into the city.

According to Zelensky, there will be an attempt to deliver food, water and medical supplies to Mariupol once again on 12 March.

We shall remind you that Russian occupants killed 1,582 Mariupol civilians during the 12-day blockade.
