Zelensky: We can end the war only after negotiations between the two presidents

President Volodymyr Zelensky believes that it will be possible to end the war in Ukraine after negotiations with Kremlin head Vladimir Putin. At the same time, the Ukrainian leader is ready for compromises, but with the same willingness from the Russian side. Zelensky said this in an interview for the German publication Bild.

"The question here is not what I can give. In every negotiation, the goal is to end the war with Russia. And I am also ready to take certain steps. Compromises can be made, but they must not be a betrayal to my country. And the other side must also be willing to make compromises, that's why they are called compromises. This is the only way we can get out of this situation," the head of state explained.

Zelensky noted that it is too early to talk about any details, because there has been no contact at the level of the presidents yet.

"We can't talk about details yet. We haven't had direct contact between the presidents yet. Only after direct negotiations between the two presidents will we be able to put an end to this war," he said.
