Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has announced the delivery of a new batch of highly specialized weapons to Ukraine.
Trudeau said this on Twitter after a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I announced that Canada will send Ukraine another batch of highly specialized military equipment. We also discussed sanctions against Russia and humanitarian aid to Ukraine," Justin Trudeau said.
He added that he invited Volodymyr Zelensky to address the Canadian parliament.
"Canadians were inspired by the bravery and resilience of the Ukrainians and the leadership shown by the president, and I know they want to hear his personal opinion," the Canadian prime minister wrote.
Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand said on March 3 that the country plans to provide Ukraine with up to 4,500 M72 handheld anti-tank grenade launchers and up to 7,500 hand grenades.
Just spoke with President @ZelenskyyUa. I let him know that Canada will send Ukraine another shipment of highly-specialized military equipment. We discussed sanctions against Russia and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine, too.
