The statement says that Georgia is watching with alarm the latest developments around Ukraine, which is a very serious challenge to European security.
"The Russian Federation's recognition of the Ukrainian territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions as independent states is yet another gross violation of the fundamental principles of international law, which actually repeats the 2008 Russian intervention in Georgia," the statement said.
