In Ukraine, 34,938 cases of COVID-19 in a day

Ukraine has already recorded 4.6 million cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19, an increase of almost 35 thousand in a day, February 17. According to the Ministry of Health, this is currently the highest since the beginning of the week.

 

As the ministry notes, the number of those, recovered during the day, is more than 29 thousand. This level has held for three days.

 

"During the day on February 17, 34,938 new confirmed cases of coronavirus disease COVID-19 were recorded in Ukraine," the Ministry of Health said.

 

Of those who fell ill in the past 24 hours: children - 2,879, health workers - 870.

 

Also in the past 24 hours:

hospitalized - 3 323;

282 fatalities;

29,254 people recovered.

 

During the entire pandemic in Ukraine:

4,672,198 people fell ill;

3 896 009 people recovered;

fatal cases - 104,106;

PCR tests performed - 19,288,823.

 

Over the past 24 hours, the largest number of confirmed cases was registered in the city of Kiev (4,538), Odessa (3,587), Dnipropetrovsk (2,712), Donetsk (1,833) and Kharkiv (1,800) regions.

 

According to the Ministry of Health, also during the day on February 17, 65,089 people in Ukraine were vaccinated against COVID-19. The first dose was given to 17,796 people, the second dose to 27,686 people, an additional dose to 488 people, and a booster dose to 19,119 people.

 

As of Friday morning, more than 420 million people worldwide were already sick with the COVID-19 coronavirus disease, according to the Worldometers website.
